RecoMonday – The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn: Robotic Edition

Lately, I’ve been accidentally RecoMondaying a lot of Comedy Fest alumnus.  But for once, I’m doing it on purpose.  Gabe Diani and Etta Devine recently had their feature film, “The Selling,” in our competition and took home the coveted ‘Best of the Fest’ award.  Well apparently cinematic gold isn’t enough for them.  Their latest creative venture is a re-imagining of Mark Twain’s classic book, “Huckleberry Finn.”  As many schools are pulling out the ‘n-word’ for the word ‘negro’ or ‘slave,’ this dynamic duo has taken it a step further to remove all traces of the word.  In turn, they are replacing it with the word ‘robot.’  I wish I could state it any better than they can, but you can see their explanation of it here:  Personally, I think their goal is extremely admirable and these good people deserve to have their book bought.  Or at least chuckled at.
